Our Story

A Baltimore story, through and through.

For generations, the Wilhide family has called Baltimore home, and this project is deeply rooted in that connection.

Steve Wilhide first bought this building in 1986, imagining it as the place where he would launch his first business — a drapery and upholstery company that would go on to serve many of Baltimore’s hotels, hospitals, and retirement communities.

When Steve first stepped inside, he didn’t just see brick and beams. He saw history. He saw potential. And over the years, as his company grew and eventually moved to a new location, he felt a responsibility to come back to this space and do something meaningful with it.

Originally built in the late 1800s as the Heinz Abattoir, this building has lived many lives and played many roles in Baltimore’s story. Today, we have the opportunity to reimagine it once again — preserving its character while creating something that reflects the Baltimore we know and love today.

This isn’t just a renovation project; it’s a chance to build something special for the community.

And we’d love for you to be part of it.
We’re inviting you to join us on this journey as we bring new life to a historic Baltimore space.
